Dena's Gift Shop Coming to Provena United Samaritans

Provena United Samaritans and Dena Gaudio are excited to announce that the Medical Center’s Gift Shop will be undergoing a transformation to “Dena’s Gift Shop” by May 4, 2009. The Gift Shop has been managed and run by the hospital itself for many years, and both parties recognized the advantages of having a seasoned retailer assume the business. “We’re very excited about this new venture,” states Dena Gaudio, owner of Dena’s Hallmark stores and the new Dena’s Gift Shop. “We’ll be able to bring some exciting new merchandise to the store for visitors, patients, and employees, while still offering the great service people have come to expect from the Provena United Samaritans Gift Shop.” There are currently six Dena’s Hallmark stores, with locations in Danville, Champaign, Urbana, Bourbonnais, and Rantoul. On April 8, Dena’s will begin renovations and preparations for a grand opening to be held Monday, May 4. “We think this is a win-win situation,” says Chad Hays, Vice President of Development and Mission Services for Provena United Samaritans. “Not only can one of our locally-owned and operated businesses expand to a new location, but the hospital can continue to concentrate on our core mission of providing excellent healthcare services.” The current medical center Gift Shop staff consists of two full-time employees and several volunteers. Both employees will be considered for positions with Dena’s Gift Shop, and all volunteers will have the opportunity to continue to support Provena by lending their talents to other areas of the hospital. Dena Gaudio and staff are busy making plans and preparations for this new venture and will announce more details as they come available closer to the Grand Opening. “I think everyone will enjoy what Dena’s Gift Shop will be able to offer to our local, community hospital and the people it serves,” says Gaudio. The Provena United Samaritans Gift Shop is currently conducting a close-out sale through Tuesday, April 7 to liquidate the current inventory. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Wednesday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. .

Announcement:  Recently we announced that our Lincoln Square store would be moving to Savoy.  We have had such a huge response from the City of Urbana and all of our very loyal customers that we have decided to stay in Lincoln Square at this time.  Thank you for the outpouring of support from the Urbana community!!  We do hope to upgrade that store but all plans are on hold for the time being.
